I believe we must reform our curriculum and instruction so that students have experiences using technology for meaningful information access, analysis, and creation. So, I pose these questions for personal reflection, covert complaining, and goal setting:
> What did you experience today that is an improvement over what you are doing now?
> Why are you not doing this/ these?
> Which of your reasons are yours alone to fix?
> Which of your reasons can your fix with help? (How to you get that help?)
> Which of your reasons are beyond your control? (How to you gain the power to fix those?)
These questions are posed in a serious, but non-accusatory tone. Your community has the right to ask the same questions in an accusatory tone in about six months.
