There are a number of "online communities" that provide services that can be abused:

MySpace is an online community that has been in the news recently because of some high-profile and scary situations that have resulted from interactions initiated through MySpace contacts.  In general, MySpace is a web server that enables:
  • Any content to be posted
  • Any images to be posted
  • Extensive linking between members' pages
  • Members contributions to each others' pages
Bebo is like MySpace... but organized around schools
Other types of communities that can be abused by users are blogs, which are sites that allow visitors to post content on a web site.  Many sites (including MySpace) includes a blog feature.

Image hositng sites also have the potential for abuse; some examples are: Photobucket & WebShots.  YouTube is for posting video.

Xanga is a blogging site... similar to the others on this page... so is My-Diary.
