With the beginning of another school year, we get another flurry of “how was your summer” questions. I have told people it was a “summer of adapting” for me. There were some circumstances I expected were going to occur, they did, and now I have been adapting.
The responses from people to my “summer of adapting” tale have been remarkably consistent.
“It’s Gods’s plan for you,” has been offered by several individuals. The atheist in me wants to repond, “Realy, that’s the best you can do?” but I haven’t yet.
“Everything happens for a reason,” has been offered by others.
My explanation is far less mysterious and far less spiritual. My explanation is simply “stuff happens.”
I think Occam would prefer my explanation. I know I do.
