I continue to clean old files and find some valvable pieces that are getting cleaned up and posted. Here is an example.
Most human endeavors can be placed in one of three categories; they are differentiated by the nature of the systems within which one works or that one tries to affect.
Some jobs work in the natural world. This is not nature as commonly defined, but these are individuals who work with systems that are dependent on the laws of nature. Examples include engineers whose designs must follow the laws of gravity and mechanics who repair systems damaged by rust and friction and other naturally occurring processes.
Other jobs fall work in human made systems. These individuals work in constructs created by humans. Most business falls into this the system would not exist were it not for humans.
The third type of job work in human constructs. Educators are one example as they affect the human brain which is a natural system but education occurs within the educational system created by humans. Medicine is another such work as medicine seeks to repair the human body, but it occurs within the social and political and economic systems created by humans.
Each of these is defined by different types of problems and those who work in each apply different methods for solving them. It is unfortunate when experts in one of these areas attempt to frame and solve problems in another. Typically, this ends in well-meaning but destructive outcomes.
